State-Wise School Holiday Details
Punjab
All government and private schools in Punjab will remain closed from June 2 to June 30, 2025. Schools will reopen on July 1, 2025. The announcement came amid rising temperatures across the state.
Haryana
Haryana has also declared summer vacations for all schools starting from June 1 to June 30, 2025. Schools are expected to resume regular classes from July 1, 2025.
Bihar
Bihar will observe school holidays from June 2 to June 21, 2025. Since June 22 falls on a Sunday, schools will reopen on June 23, 2025. During this time, headmasters will remain on duty for administrative work, and teachers may be called in when necessary.
Himachal Pradesh (Una District)
Schools in the Una district of Himachal Pradesh will be closed from June 1 to June 30, 2025, due to the intense summer heat. Classes will resume on July 1, 2025, and continue until August 2, followed by a short break from August 3 to August 12, 2025.
Madhya Pradesh
In Madhya Pradesh, summer vacation began on May 1, 2025, and will continue until June 15, 2025. This schedule applies to both government and private institutions.
Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan
These states have extended summer holidays until June 15, 2025, for all school levels.
Delhi
Delhiโs schools are observing their summer break from May 11 to June 30, 2025. Schools will reopen on July 1, 2025. Teachers are expected to report between June 28 and June 30 for preparations.
Uttar Pradesh

Chandigarh
Over 120 government schools in Chandigarh will be shut for summer vacation from June 1 to June 30, 2025. Students will return to school on July 1, 2025.

Along with summer vacations, schools in multiple states will remain closed on June 6 and 7, 2025, in observance of Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid). Schools will also be closed on SundaysโJune 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2025.
